Bee-Lieving in Change: Ruth’s Buzz Worthy Project
This past year Ruth Yu earned her Girl Scout Gold Award! This is the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. We want to recognize all of her hard work and dedication towards spreading pollinator awareness in her community.
Through her local church, Ruth successfully hosted three Pollinator Path workshop events. Elementary school children who attended got to learn about Ohio's pollinators, why they are important to us, and their roles in the ecosystem. They engaged in hands on learning activities such as bug-based games and crafts!
We were able to provide Ruth with information on Ohio's pollinating species, craft ideas, and handouts for her workshop. Everything she accomplished is a result of her drive and passion for the environment. We'd like to thank Ruth and Beavercreek North Girl Scouts for reaching out and allowing us to participate. It has been a privilege watching Ruth spread her wings and fly!
